Cookies are just the best. A big batch of some warm and fresh cookies is better than a hug, a coffee, or a good meal. But there's nothing better than your pet and the time you share together. Pets are an emotional comfort, they support our wellbeing and give us a reason to get up in the morning, and something to look forward to when we get off work. Walking a dog forces us to get out of bed and start our day with movement and purpose, and time outdoors. The simple act of petting an animal has been shown to reduce stress and lower heart rate. Many people find that caring for a pet gives them a sense of meaning, especially during periods of loneliness. Pets teach us things too, they teach us patience and tenderness. They rely on us for care, and there's a mutual understanding of trust without words. Our memories and emotions become intertwined with our pets, and we see the eyes through them. 

When it's Sunday morning, there's only one thing to do: lay in bed with your pet and scroll kitty memes. Cats offer the most humble and loving support. When a cat warms up to you and wants to be pet by you, you know it's not in vain. It's completely their own, and it means all the more than when a dog cuddles you.   • My favorite thing to do on a Sunday is simply rest in bed with my cat. He sits next to me while I play video games or watch a movie. Of course we also love to just scroll sleepy and soft cat memes together. He's not the jealous type, he doesn't mind if I look at other cats. He knows that I'll always be his. That sleepy Sunday feeling is one that can't be replaced with anything else. Even though you know you have to wake up for work the next day, it doesn't mean that you have to feel bad in the day! There's something wholesome about expecting work in these types of situations.
